A panoramic shot of the Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful Dzongs of Bhutan. I took this photo during the golden hour (before sunset), at a vantage point that brought out the resplendence of the Dzong.
The Punakha Dzong is also known as “the palace of great happiness or bliss” and I can certainly see why. Constructed in 1637, it is the second oldest and second largest dzong in Bhutan and one of its most majestic structures. In fact, the Punakha Dzong was the administrative centre of the Government of Bhutan before the capital was moved to Thimphu.
